Nature park providing a refuge for migratory birds, guided tours and wildlife walks.
In the 15th century, the Basques, great whale hunters, built large furnaces here to extract the oil from the cetaceans (the restored remains can be visited according to the tides). It's also a place of refuge for migratory birds. Guided tours and wildlife observation hikes are organized by the Provancher Society of Canadian Natural History. Cottage rentals on the island (early June to early October, membership required for reservations).
