Did you know that Amos has some of the purest water in the world? 12,000 years ago, glaciers created eskers as they passed through. Highly coveted, it's even used in the brewing of Belgh Brasse beers. South of Amos, in Saint-Mathieu-d'Harricana, a small interpretive pavilion lets you learn more about the formation of eskers and even collect water from the Périgny spring. While in Amos, a must-see is the famous Refuge Pageau, which takes in injured or stray animals. A golden opportunity to see moose, wolves, foxes, bears, birds of prey and other magnificent beasts up close.
