This busy port is the only point of embarkation for the ferry serving the Magdalen Islands (in Quebec). It is also the largest community in eastern Prince Edward Island (population just under 1,100). It has a tourist information center, stores, stores, accommodations and restaurants, making it a good base for exploring the wild northeast end of the island. You can also enjoy the beach at Souris Beach Provincial Park or take a short tour of the East Souris Lighthouse, built in 1880, and its souvenir store (open during the summer season).
