On the north coast of the island, this place, which means "wide bay" in Micmac, is famous for its oysters. You can enjoy them at the Malpeque Oyster Barn, the best restaurant in town. The best view of this large bay is from Cabot Beach Provincial Park (camping available), with its uncrowded wilderness beaches. For an even closer look, Malpeque Bay Kayak Tours offers guided kayak tours and watercraft rentals. Finally, not far away, in Corner Park to be precise, is the famous Anne of Green Gables Museum dedicated to this great literary work.
