Caracol is a small, poor, tourist town with its coastline. Caracol Bay has a special landscape of sea marshes where mangroves, composed of shimmered palgroves, extend to about 40 km ².In the morning, by walking a narrow gully with water coming to the knees, you can reach pieces of large coves phagocyted by the shells and sometimes present like the remains of the Santa María. It is not. For if the Santa María, the ship of Christopher Columbus, sinked well between Cape Haitien and Caracol, at Christmas 1492, it was never found.
