A 2-hour walk will take you to Karsha Shakyamuni. An excellent opportunity to discover the surroundings and to warm up for a longer trek. This white monastery hung on a steep mountain is the largest in the Zanskar, built in the 150 th century and houses about monks.
Every day, a bus connects Karsha and Padum.
You can sleep in Karsha. Pensions offer rooms from 600 Rs at night. These include the guesthouses Thieur and Thinkuling. Don't be demanding on comfort.
