Also known as Corbett Tiger Reserve, the park became the country's first national park when it was created in 1936. It was named after Jim Corbett, a famous British hunter who specialized in hunting down man-eating tigers. But as a true lover of nature and tigers, Jim Corbett worked for many years to create this first national park, dedicated to the endangered felines. You can choose to stay in one of the six different bungalows at the Dhikala Forest Lodge or in one of the many resorts on the edge of the park. The park is also one of the few in India to be open all year round.
