Less than one hour's drive from the capital, this place is run for weekend picnics. Its kund (tank) was built between the th and th centuries by King Rajpout Sarajpal. He kept his stone terraces which were intended to retain rain water. The artificial lake is usually very popular for boat trips, but it can be dried up in summer. In front of the historical vestige there is a kind of village created to host the Craft Mela, a huge handicraft fair that takes place for days in February. The structure, with paillottes and reproductions of the country's representative monuments, is still a bit cardboard… But when artisans install Rajasthan puppets here, miroirs broderies by this and musicians ring their instruments, the atmosphere is at the party and the taste of the skewers makes it forget that of the kitsch!
