Tibetan refugee center dating from 1959 after the Chinese invasion, with handicraft workshop, traditional handicrafts.

This Tibetan refugee center opened in 1959 after the Chinese invasion looks like a large handicraft workshop where efficient and very friendly refugees work. You can see them spinning carpets, painting thangkas, carving wood, forging bronze or copper objects such as prayer wheels, working leather to make shoes and belts... Do a good deed, spend a few rupees on a beautiful traditional craft.

Originality

assez excentré de la ville, il vous faudra prendre taxi pour y accéder. Cette visite d'un camp de réfugiés tibétains dans des locaux qui n'ont pas été rénovés est très décevante. Vous n'avez pas de contacts avec les tibétains sur place qui vous ignorent sauf dans le magasin où il est peu probable que vous achetiez un objet réalisé sur place car les ateliers sont fermés.
Bref aucun intérêt !
