A zoo where you can discover the wildlife of the Himalayan mountains, including red panda, snow leopard, black panther and tiger.
The Darjeeling zoo allows you to see the fauna of the Himalayan mountains: red panda, snow leopard, black panther, wolf, black bear... but also a tiger of impressive size. If the enclosures seem narrow, the animals are in good health. Indeed, the zoo also works for the conservation and protection of these species. The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, located within the zoo, houses a collection of old equipment, photographs and a wealth of information about expeditions to the Himalayas.

c'est par une agréable balade que l'on accède au zoo depuis la place centrale (chemin sur la droite où on voit le Katchenjunga par beau temps). Le zoo permet de voir la faune de l'Himalaya. C'est à faire notamment avec des enfants mais pas que car on peut y voir des pandas roux et des panthères des neiges notamment difficilement visible en nature.
