This tiny café located next to the Kasbah museum is worth a stop. Mismatched tables and stools are installed in front of the blue shuttered windows. The long room is laid out like a Moroccan living room: benches run along the walls and tables are in the middle. If the café's hours are tight, it's because it's run by elderly members of the Arab-Andalusian music circle. Between sips of mint tea, you can learn about this music and ask questions to the musicians present.

Le Coeur de Tanger is located above the famous Café de Paris, opposite the Paresseux wall. It's aptly named, since it's right in the heart of the city, and there's a lot going on here. It's a great place to meet people and chat over a glass of tea or a beer, as the Coeur de Tanger is one of the only terraces where it's allowed to drink alcohol on the balcony: ideal in summer. It also serves tapas, which are offered every time you order a drink. A well-known address among locals. Very friendly staff.

A traditional pub, well decorated in the English style with woodwork. Good atmosphere, the place is always animated. The beers are not very expensive and the tapas offered by the owner are varied and of good quality. The place is rather frequented by a clientele of regulars. The waiters are nice and the service is efficient, we come here to have a drink, have a snack and relax. Live bands and singers perform here regularly. The pub broadcasts the Champions League matches on TV and also those of the Spanish Liga.

Situated on the marina, the Table du Marché boasts an incredible panoramic view. In fact, it's to contemplate the bay that customers come here. We like the address, but more to enjoy a quiet breakfast on the terrace in the morning, a cup of tea during the day or a few tapas in the evening, washed down with cocktails with or without alcohol while listening to music. The market table is also available for all-day dining. Perfect for a sweet or savoury break in the middle of sightseeing. Pleasant staff and friendly service.

Inside as well as on the terrace, the Cinematheque is the meeting point of Tangier in cultural terms. Film lovers, expatriates, young and old... Everyone comes here for a coffee, a mint tea or a discussion. The place is open to all, whether or not you come for a film session. It is also one of the only places near the medina, and near the Mosque, where you can order a beer inside. On the terrace, you can enjoy a view of Grand Socco. Ideal to meet people. A must-see!

This café, which is also a pastry shop, is located in the heart of Iberia. Its urban and elegant setting is in tune with its clientele. La Fuga is known for its breakfasts. But the establishment has recently diversified its menu, which is now 20 pages long (!) and offers sushi and maki in addition to its pizzas, pastas and more classic dishes. You can choose to have lunch, a snack or dinner. The fruit juices are made on demand. The ice creams are quite good. It's a quiet family place with a nice terrace.

Located in the Malabata district, on the edge of the bay of Tangier, this café is an ideal stopover during a daytime or evening stroll. A young and cosmopolitan clientele rushes in at any time of the day. They appreciate the trendy décor with black and white magazine covers and an old Vespa. You can have an excellent breakfast here, but also lunch or dinner. The ice cream and waffles are delicious. Large menu of 100% natural fruit and vegetable juices. Very good prices and service.

This café overlooking the sea has existed since the dawn of time. You can drink a glass of tea while reading a book by Lotfi Akalay, taste fried food in generous portions, order a kefta sandwich and eat it right down on the beach. The view is splendid, while waiting to place your order, you never tire of admiring the waves and the containers passing in the distance. The waiters are friendly. The Barsol is not very frequented in winter but in summer, hordes of young people arrive, disturbing somewhat the quietness of the place.

Café Central, founded in 1813, is as much a part of Tangier's history and culture as the Grand Café de Paris or the Café Hafa. Located on the Place du Petit Socco, in the heart of the medina's action, it was here that the leading figures of Tangier life at the beginning of the ^20th century met. It is the equivalent of the Café de Flore or the Closerie des Lilas in Paris. It is of course in terrace that it is necessary to sit in order to benefit from the ceaseless agitation of the district. The rates are those you have to pay to see (and be seen) in the front row.

The Minzah Hotel's café is located in the hotel's large courtyard patio. The tables are sheltered under blue umbrellas, matching the tiled walls of the gallery. There is clearly a Mediterranean feel here. The place is perfect for a break after a long walk through the old embassy district or after a performance at the nearby Teatro Cervantes. The pleasant setting lends itself to an outing with family or friends to sip a glass of mint tea and nibble on some pastries.

In a vaulted cellar overlooking an Andalusian patio, the Wine Bar offers a rich selection of local wines, as well as liquors and spirits. In this pleasant, slightly old-fashioned setting, where photos of Tangier and foreign personalities remind us who the guests of the grand El-Minzah hotel were, the atmosphere is one of relaxation. Over a glass of your favourite wine, you can contemplate the views of old Tangier from the beginning of the 20th century that line the walls and tell the story of the city. Sometimes, the bar comes alive with an artist at the piano.

Located on the Malabata road, bordering the bay of Tangier, Arena is much more than just a café. It is part of a complex that offers everything at your fingertips. Have a drink, dine, satisfy a small hunger, get your hair done, change money, check your emails at the cybercafé... all this is possible here. Held by a real Tangierese very friendly, this coffee is a perfect stop on the way back from a trip to Tetouan or Chefchaouen for example. You can also take away and enjoy a walk with a view on Spain.

With its wicker seats and yellow cushions, this coffee always and allows you to take a drink watching the bustle of the street.

This bar served as a model for Rick's Café in the Casablanca film. It is in a retro atmosphere that you can sip wine or cocktails by listening to the pianist. A pleasant, outdated charm.

Not really a café, but certainly one of the most beautiful gardens in the medina. Aux 3 Portes hides behind the walls of its guest house a delightful green setting overlooking the fishing port and the Strait of Gibraltar. Installed on the walls of the Kasbah, the few tables and armchairs enjoy a dazzling view. The luxuriant vegetation of fig trees, bougainvilleas, mimosas and succulents provides a beneficial shade. And if the place seduces you, you can linger there while enjoying a good meal.

The Cappuccino takes the coffee shop concept to its limit. Set up in a Californian-style house, people come here at any time to enjoy an ice cream, an espresso or a coffee, a fresh fruit juice or a delicate pastry. The concept is more than seductive. The huge room occupies two floors, and it often happens that there is no more room. All of Tangier's good society, lovers of bling-bling, meet here to enjoy a sweet treat or a salad or a club sandwich. The high prices allow to filter the clientele.

The orange and white setting of this modernist café-restaurant could almost remind one of the aesthetics of a Stanley Kubrick movie. Facing the municipal beach, this café allows you to take a sweet or savory break at any time of the day. But it is especially for its generous and varied breakfast that the place is appreciated. Baghrirs served with amlou, manchego, scrambled eggs, khlii, fresh fruit juice... Tangérois and visitors choose among different formulas, the eyes in the blue in order to start the day well.

Ideally located on the corniche, just a few minutes' walk from the station, you can enjoy a cup of tea or a freshly squeezed fruit juice while gazing out over the Strait of Gibraltar. People come here for a snack (salads, pizzas, crêpes, grilled meats), but also for the atmosphere, as the show is permanent: from early morning, joggers run along the beach, horses walk families, fishermen hope for a good catch. The terrace is very popular, but many also appreciate the second floor with its large bay windows. A family atmosphere.

Located on the new marina, Tanja Marina Bay, the Chiringuito is a pleasant address both day and night. During the day, enjoy the lounge music and sublime views over the bay. When night falls, the city's party-goers come to enjoy themselves. A great atmosphere among Tangiers locals and visitors. Nice selection of wines and original cocktails. DJs are often present. You can also nibble on some sushi and sashimi before heading off for a wild night at 555 next door. Perfect for warming up!

Of all the chain hotels that have sprung up along the corniche towards Malabata, the Hilton stands out for its mirrored windows that reflect the blue of the sea or the sky. Its splendid terrace on the ^13th floor of the building and its panoramic view attracts hotel guests and outside visitors. You can enjoy a drink by the pool at any time of the day. It is often crowded at sunset.

Théâtre Darna is the theater of the association of the same name. Darna means "our home" in Arabic. The association was founded by a group of citizens eager to help women and children in need, and to serve the public interest. Eric Valentin has been behind the foundation of this theater since 2004, and works there with his company Mémoire d'avenir, which performs there. The Théâtre Darna is also a kind of second school for the association's youngest members, who like to find refuge here and take acting and acrobatics classes.
