There are also magnificent labyrinthine paintings, tables, mirrors, boxes and accessories designed in very small series to bring home (or offer) an almost unique design object.

Installed in the old rue Velasquez since 2010, Artingis has the charm of a well-kept secret: very small and very neat, this gallery specializes in old books on Morocco and travel. Fine arts, literature, collections of books and old posters, orientalist sculptures, old maps and photographs of the Cherifian kingdom... Rûmi Spirit is a pretty boutique-workshop which proposes artisanal candles. The store is run by Hamza who will guide you with great kindness among the many scents offered. Flowers, fruits, spices, the scents remind of Morocco. The soy wax candles are hand-poured, 100% natural, without GMOs or pesticides and biodegradable. They are presented in beldi glass, the famous Moroccan tea glass from the 1940s, under a pompom lid and in a colorful packaging. A good address to bring back a unique gift.

If you manage to find Majid's shop, you won't be disappointed. It is surely the best stocked antique shop in Tangier. Hidden somewhere between the carpets of this old shop is a small man with a mischievous smile who imposes a rule on all visitors to his shop: that of going up to the top floor to enjoy the view of the medina. Jewellery, works of art, carpets, clothes and pieces of all kinds are piled up here. Prices are high, but as everywhere in Morocco, negotiation will allow you to find the balance.

Decoration shop and antiques.

This pretty shop combines Nabil's unbridled imagination, Adelaïde's taste for DIY and Jacques' knowledgeable eye. The three of them, in love with Tangier, go on a hunt and up-cycle a lot of objects. Old wooden washing boards become candle holders, coloured cotton threads are woven to create grigris, cake moulds are transformed into cutlery trays... Nouss Nouss is a Tangier expression that means "half and half". This expression is also used by the Cinematheque's cafeteria for its café au lait.

Le Beau Bizarre is a "cabinet of curiosities" to quote the shop's owners. Here, African and Moroccan art objects, as well as paintings, are all chosen with care. Statuettes rub shoulders with antique jewellery, ceremonial masks are lit by desk lamps. Somewhere between a specialized antique shop and the back room of an ethnographic museum, the address offers singular objects. The fashion designer Inès de la Fressange is one of the visitors. A beautiful collection that invites you to travel.

On the edge of the medina, on the busy Rue de la Kasbah, this store offers a few decorative items and knick-knacks in a very uncluttered setting. Mugs, crockery, candles, glasses or embroidered textiles rub shoulders with babouches, jewelry, bags, dream traps on shelves wisely aligned. The concept is simple, artists and craftsmen have a mini exhibition space and sell the fruit of their production.
