RÉGION NORMANDIE

The decision fell, since 26 May 2016, Rouen was elected administrative capital of the region Normandie. However, in a desire to balance, let us remember that the Upper and Lower Normandy were separated since 1956, Caen remains the seat of the regional council and as a political capital, whose vocation is to host the meetings of the council as well as the elected representatives and officials in the famous Women's Abbey. The priority axes for this reunification: employment, economic and social development, culture, heritage, tourism, health, social and territorial solidarity, strengthening communications, ecology and youth. This will not happen overnight. The current major projects focus on the development and innovation of agriculture, renewable marine energies (the Normandie being the first French region of EMR), learning, a preferred path to the employment and qualification of young people, with a Grenelle created for this purpose. But also tourism thanks to architectural heritage and history, Vikings at the landing. New region, new logo for a forward-looking Normandy.
