CLOS SAINT-MARTIN
16th-century mansion entirely restored with a terrace and old-style cachet.
Wow! classy! Located in Caen's historic center (in the Fossés Saint-Julien), this fully restored 16th-century townhouse is a real gem. The owner has thought up the decor: each room is named after a color that defines its ambiance. The charm and cachet of yesteryear are everywhere: antique materials, jointed stone ceilings, 18th-century fireplaces, a terrace with a babbling fountain, and a magnificent Caen stone staircase. And for exploring the region, a well-designed information center will help guide you.

The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the authentic French breakfast offered every morning. Fresh croissants, delicious cheeses, and other local delicacies made for a perfect start to each day. The hosts clearly take great pride in providing an excellent culinary experience that truly showcases the best of French cuisine.
The ambiance of Gîte zClos Saint Martin is both warm and inviting, making it a perfect home away from home. However, I should mention that the stairs leading to the rooms are quite steep, which might be a consideration for some guests. Despite this, the overall experience was fantastic, and I highly recommend this charming spot to anyone visiting Caen.
