Passing through Mvengue, we leave the Centre region and enter the South. The interest of this trip lies not in the town itself, but in the Abouma cave. Access from Mbalmayo is via the Ngomedzap road, then the Mvengue road. Some ten kilometers before reaching Mvengue, not far from the road, is the entrance to the site. Very wide and deep, this vast cavity can accommodate around a hundred people, although the site is relatively quiet. Like all natural rock formations and caves in the country, it obviously has a mystical dimension and is considered a sacred place.
