Russian church in the heart of the Matsminda district, with a bulbous bell tower and an icon dedicated to the Romanov family.
From Rustaveli you will see an unusual image: the bulb of the bell tower of the Russian church of St. Michael of Tver. Located in the heart of the Matsminda district, not far from the Rustaveli metro station, you can reach it through the small streets. It was erected by the last viceroy of the Caucasus in 1913. Since then, the ecclesiastical authorities have made it a Georgian church, but a Russian icon remains, dedicated to the Romanov family! Last Russian trace in Tbilisi, then.
