MAMA DAVITI CHURCH

It can be seen from afar, on the heights, leaning against the cliffs. It is the Mama Daviti Church, named after Father David, which is at the origin of the spread of Christianity in Georgia. You will reach this superb site by going up the 9-April street just before the Parliament. St. David's Church, as well as the small chapel of the Transfiguration, was built in the second half of the 19th century. The site is best known for its pantheon. The necropolis gathers the graves of famous Georgian and Russian artists and figures.
