Museum located in Bayeux, evoking the 77 days following the Normandy landings, exhibiting numerous documents and materials

In the heart of Liberty Alley, this memorial museum offers a vibrant immersion in the Battle of Normandy. From June 7 to August 29, 1944, two million men battled it out in Normandy for 77 days, during which the fate of Europe was decided. One by one, each military operation is described and illustrated with period uniforms and weapons. A must-see before visiting the military cemetery next door, and before heading out to the D-Day beaches!

Great all-round museum to delve into history of D-Day and aftermath. A great film outlining main events and battles, and plenty of memorabilia in the museum which greatly adds to the experience. Recommend buying Bayeux museum passes for discounted rate if also visiting tapestry.
