Bayeux Tapestry Museum, closed for renovation until 2027

While the museum is closed, the Tapestry will be exhibited from September 2026 to June 2027 at the British Museum in London. The reopening of the Bayeux museum in 2027 will be part of the celebration of the millennium of the birth of William the Conqueror. Listed in UNESCO's "Memory of the World" register, this thousand-year-old work is an embroidery of woollen threads on linen canvas, depicting William's conquest of the throne of England in 1066.
