Odemira is a pleasant white village, topped by a windmill and leaning against the banks of the Mira River, which are the subject of a landscaped promenade. It was once an important river port, as the etymology of its name suggests: in Arabic, Ode means river. Its castle has long since disappeared and been replaced by a library. The municipality is known for its beaches, which stretch over 50 km of coastline: Praia do Malhão, Almograve, Carvalhal... Your walks will take you to the Necropolis of Pardieiro and to the Santa Clara reservoir, whose dam forms a magnificent landscape in the heart of the surrounding relief
