Lagos beach with 4 km of fine sand, offering direct immersion in the water for swimming or a variety of water sports.

Located just across the fishing port, this beach is the closest to the city centre and the most easily accessible (barely 30 minutes' walk). It is bordered by high red cliffs and offers up to 4 kilometres of fine sand. It is clean. You can choose: sunbathing on the beach, a nice walk or a short jog at the beginning or end of the day to avoid excessive heat, direct immersion in the water to swim or practice different water sports. Be careful though: in August, the northerly winds make swimming sometimes painful.

Meia Praia is located different side canal compared to the city centre. This next door, no rocks, a large sandy beach to relax and enjoy the sun. The water is, as elsewhere in Portugal, very cold, and you should not expect if to swim if you are sensitive to the cold. There is plenty of parking (extra charge but little expensive) to get there by car.
