The village of Aqcha, at 291 m altitude, is on the road between Mazar and Maïmana, 50 km from Sheberghan and one hour's drive from Mazar. Aqcha is indicated on the right. A typical Turkmen town, with an undeniable charm, this small town houses many small coloured tchaikhana. Aqcha deserves the detour for his craft bazaar where you find money and beautiful Turkmen jewelry. A stop of one hour is enough. In the th century, Aqcha was a large market surrounded by walls. A citadel dominated the village. But the old town was deserted in the 1960 s, following the construction of a new city. The citadel was bombed and destroyed during the war.
