Travel Guide Aqcha

The village of Aqcha, at 291 m altitude, is on the road between Mazar and Maïmana, 50 km from Sheberghan and one hour's drive from Mazar. Aqcha is indicated on the right. A typical Turkmen town, with an undeniable charm, this small town houses many small coloured tchaikhana. A citadel dominated the village. But the old town was deserted in the 1960 s, following the construction of a new city. The citadel was bombed and destroyed during the war.
