A 80 km north-east of Tashkent, the Charvaq reservoir is the resort of the wealthy classes of the capital, looking for fresh air in summer and snow in winter. Cottage rentals, camping and picnic on the lakeside, pedal rental, amusement park for children…A small Uzbek Côte d'Azur, which turns into Chamonix in the winter. Charvaq and, a few kilometres, Tchimgan and Beldersay, on the foothills of Tian Shan, have luxurious, expensive complexes to accommodate ski enthusiasts. Beginners go to Tchimgan, an easy level, while Beldersay has only one track, but for confirmed skiers. In summer, the possibilities for trek, horse riding or rafting have narrowed with the closure of the three valleys of Pskem, Chatkal and Koksu. But a few day trips, on foot or on horseback in the vicinity of Tchimgan, remain possible by trading on site. The breeders come with their horses below the Hotel Tchimgan to wait for the amateurs. If many tchaïkhanas are open in winter and summer, finding what to eat in low season is a bit more complicated, and better to settle for cooking, with the means of the edge, in cottages (plan a stove, cooking is most often outside).
