Palace with charming little pavilions and many terraces, enjoying a real opera setting.
An amazing quinta, recently opened to the public and worth visiting for its originality. Built at the beginning of the 20th century in the purest romantic tradition, it is the fruit of the imagination of two men, its owner (Carvalho Monteiro, a man of immense culture who made his fortune in Brazil) and an Italian (Luigi Manini, the same architect who built the hotel-palace in Buçaco), who allowed the "revivalist" confluence of artistic genres as far apart as the Gothic, Manueline or Renaissance style.
You can visit the gardens, the Palace of the Millions, a true philosophical residence of alchemical inspiration, the fabulous exotic park and the Chapel of the Holy Trinity, which gives access to the crypt. Within the quinta, a set of towers overlooks magnificent panoramas; in addition, small charming pavilions and numerous terraces invite contemplation. But the highlight of the visit is the descent, through a huge spiral staircase, into the depths of the imposing well. At the very bottom, with your feet resting on an eight-pointed star, you have the impression of being engulfed in the bowels of the Earth. Mystical! Then, all that remains is to cross the caves and the labyrinths to reach the light. A real opera set, where everything is deliberate and nothing was designed by chance! Le puits en spirale rigolo et original. Si j'ai bien compris c'est le passage à l'enfer. Aparament le propriétaire de la quinta était quelqu'un de très excentrique.
Mais le parc avec ses nombreux passages secrets et son puits avec l'escalier en colimaçons est la visite qui m'a le plus étonné durant mon séjour à Lisbonne
Se perdre dans les vastes jardins, avec des passages secrets, de la hauteur, des points d'eau, ... Même avec un mauvais temps ça vaut le coup.
Je ne peux que conseiller d'aller vous y promener.
Prendre un guide pour comprendre, appréhender cette balade énigmatique est un plus.
La bâtisse quant à elle est très originale ainsi que toutes les constructions alentours.
Vraiment une belle visite pour un prix de 10 euros.
