Museum with a beautiful library offering a visit to discover the collection of paintings, tiles and sculptures.
A highly recommendable visit, for the collection of paintings, furniture, porcelains, azulejos and sculptures, collected by Count Castro Guimarães, as well as for the superb library. The Palácio Condes de Castro de Guimarães (built at the very end of the 19th century), a residence commissioned by an Irishman linked to the tobacco trade, then sold to the Counts of Castro de Guimarães, has a rather crazy mix encompassing seven types of architecture (neomanueline, romantic...).
