A charming and authentic harbor village in the south of the island, with small wooden houses and an inevitable sailors' pub
't Horntje is a small harbor village in the south of the island. It is the gateway to the south of Texel. It is charming and authentic, just south of Den Hoorn and owes its development to the relocation of the pier in the 1960s. Two institutes are located here: the National Institute for Sea Studies and a branch of the Wageningen Institute. The lighthouse, once in the center of the village, has been moved. The small wooden houses and the inevitable sailors' pub, facing the pier, are still there. Not to be missed and starting point for many walks.
