Museum that honors an important part of Dutch culinary culture in Volendam

Holland, the other cheese country! Gouda is an important part of Dutch culinary culture, and this is what the museum is all about. In this pretty building just a stone's throw from the port, the 400-square-meter tour takes in the origins of gouda, its flavors and properties, its manufacturing process in the past, and of course, the processes used today. The highly professional staff are on hand to answer all your questions, and of course, tastings are also available. It's a great way to combine gourmet pleasure with culture!

Open every day from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm between mid-March and November, from 10:30 am to 5 pm between November and mid-March.

Cheese Factory Volendam is an all-in-one museum and cheese shop that offers demonstrations and cheese tastings. Do you know how cheese was discovered? Or how many liters of milk we need for 1 kg of cheese?

In our factory we will give you a unique insight into the modern production process of the famous Dutch Gouda cheese. Our team is ready to answer all your questions and show you the wide range of flavors that we offer in our shop. You can even have a little taste..

Our Cheese Factory is situated in the authentic and picturesque village of Volendam, right at the famous dike.
