A permanent court to try genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in The Hague
The ICC is a permanent court. Created by the Rome Statute signed in 1998, it is responsible for judging genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes of aggression, particularly those committed during conflicts in the following countries: Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Central African Republic, Sudan, Kenya, Libya and Côte d'Ivoire, former Yugoslavia. The court currently has 900 staff members from 100 states.
