This museum is a veritable ode to Vermeer, the illustrious painter from Delft, the town where he was born and lived his entire life. This attractive historic building transports visitors to the Golden Age, to the Delft celebrated by the master of light, and presents the work and life of the painter. Although only copies are on show, the three floors of exhibition space offer a wonderful opportunity to discover the works, with interactive tools. The audio-guide is available in French. Temporary exhibitions are organized and his techniques are explained.

Owner's Message
Johannes Vermeer is one of the most famous Dutch painters. He lived his whole life, from 1632 to 1675, in Delft. Vermeer painted only 37 canvases, which reflect a singular universe. All of them are of exceptional virtuosity. The Vermeer Centre in Delft (Vermeer Centrum) brings the old master back to life.
The Vermeer Centre exhibition
Enter into the intimacy of Johannes Vermeer, discover who he was, his mentors, his cities and the declarations of love that are inscribed in his works. Discover how this 17th century painter established himself as the master of "Dutch light".
The Vermeer Centre presents excellent life-size reproductions of all of Vermeer's works. You can visit the studio where he painted the Girl with a Pearl, the Dairy and one of his most beautiful landscapes, the View of Delft.
The Vermeer Pass
The best way to understand Vermeer is still to walk the streets he himself walked. The Vermeer Pass gives you access to the Vermeer Centre, the Museum Het Prinsenhof, the Old Church and the New Church, all accompanied by a map of the Vermeer Route through Delft.
