Every year, usually in mid-February, the city of Rotterdam becomes the tennis capital of the world when it hosts the city's always competitive ATP tennis tournament. It is held in Ahoy, the city's famous venue, not far from the central station. It is already the 50th edition and will be held in 2023. Arthur Ashe is the most successful (he won in 1972, 1975 and 1976) with Roger Federer. The ABNAmro bank is the historical sponsor of the event and the former Wimbledon winner Richard Krajicek is the director.
