SARPHATIPARK
Charming rectangular park to be pampered and reoxygenated in Amsterdam
Just a stone's throw from the Albert Cuyp market, this 4.5-hectare rectangular park is a city classic. It's named after Samuel Sarphati, the Jewish philanthropist physician whose statue stands proudly in the center of the park. During the Occupation, the statue was removed and the park renamed Bollandpark, after a Dutch philosopher. Shop at the market, buy a coffee from the foodtruck and spend a pleasant moment by the water. This park is slightly below the level of the local streets, as it has not yet been raised.
