Chinese New Year is celebrated in Amsterdam's Asian district with a joyful and colourful parade in the middle of winter.

The Chinese New Year is celebrated with great pomp in the Red Light district, where Chinatown is located. The festivities take place around Dam Square, Nieuwmarkt and Zeedijk. It's a good idea to have a meal in the district to prolong the festivities. There's usually a parade in the neighborhood, and special events are also held in some of the temples. So don't miss out! Gong Xi Fa Cai, Happy New Year!
