This is my 12th Hoxton location I've stayed at across 27 stays. Huge fan of the brand and what they are doing.
Since this is by the canals in Amsterdam, space is at a premium. Not as much public space as some other locations. No roof top bar for example. However, what is there is great. There is tons of art on the ground floor and across the property as a whole. Even some nice are in my room. I had room 412 for this review.
The location has a good mix of locals and tourists to keep the place buzzing from breakfast until late into the night. Lott's is working for dinner. I think like Paris Hoxton, this location was maybe 2 or 3 buildings combined, which means they are some cool nooks and areas to explore on the 1st floor.
I got a nice upgrade from the front desk team, which I appreciate. Had a cozy room with an internal view of a courtyard like area. It was perfect to give me light but also some quiet space to unwind after a long day of travel. I'll need to check out the docklands Hoxton location next time I'm in the city.
Very tastefully decorated, the radio playing in my room as I arrived was a lovely touch. I didn’t try the restaurant, which appears to be a destination in its on right. I will definitely be returning if I get the chance.
Hoxton has been always my favorite place to come on Sundays either to just enjoy some jazzy evenings, meeting friends or relax. Staff has been always friendly and nice. However today both ladies working at the lounge were always showing an attitude which made the experience very unpleasant. They kept mixing up orders (which totally understand can happen when it is busy), forgot to bring what we ordered and in the end our bill got mixed up with another table next to us. The lady didn’t even apologize moreover refused to fix both bills and just asked to pay “our” amount from our neighbors bill. While we were calculating and trying to figure out who pays what, she was always with the face like she just ate a lemon. Maybe good to train those two staff members of some politeness and hospitality
A nice place. I come here often to relax and have some drinks or to work. It's great for getting work done. Many young people, aged between 20-30, come here. The food is also excellent. I would recommend the bagel with salmon; loved it!????
