A fantastic landscape, sometimes more than 1 400 metres above sea level, between the south shore of the river Pongola and Louwsburg, east of Vryheid. This 29 653-hectare reserve, managed by KZN Wildlife, opened in 1972. Animals have been slowly acclimated over the years. They meet African wildlife Classics with the exception of lions, including some endangered species (pangolin, brown hyena, damalisque sassaby). A network of trails allows you to discover very rough prospects and many rivers and waterfalls. From March to October, the Rangers organize a five-day Wilderness Trail with a bush night. It rains quite often during the summer and sometimes freezes in winter; take warm clothes for a stay between May and August. Access by the R 69 of Vryheid.
