The Cu Lao Chàm archipelago, located 30 km off Ho Chi Minh City, has 8 sets of islets. The largest one has an area of a few hundred square kilometers. It is dominated by 3 peaks with an average height of 500 m. On the Yen islet and, in particular in the south, on the rocks Hon Tai and Hon, nest the salanganes whose famous swallow's nests are used in the composition of soups highly prized in Hong Kong or Singapore. The Quang Nam Salangan Company ensures the exploitation of the island while protecting the birds. Hon Lao, the main island of the archipelago, is the only one inhabited by fishing families. The visitors board at the port of Bai Lang. 5 km to the southeast, the hamlet of Bai Huong. 2 km to the southwest, a pretty beach, very popular during the tourist season, destination of day tours.
