Dà Lat (the river of Lat) is the capital of the province of Lâm Dông, located on the high plateau of Lang Biang (400 km²), the highest of the central highlands. Cool and misty, its climate is reminiscent of Great Britain. The dry season extends from January to April while the rainy period runs from May to December. Temperatures remain mild, ranging from 18 °C to 25 °C, and have earned Dà Lat the nickname "city of eternal spring".
