50 km east of Ciudad Rodrigo on the C-515, it is the favourite destination of the Salmantines on hot weekends. The small roads cross beautiful mountain valleys, cut by refreshing streams. Above all, there are many happy discoveries to be made here: Miranda del Castañar, Candelario, among other mountain villages, line their winding alleys and old rural hovels with balconies overflowing with flowers. Don't hesitate to climb to one of the highest points of the Sierra (1,727 m) towards the Peña de Francia monastery, you will have a superb panoramic view of the entire mountain range.
