LA LOCANDA DEL MIRTO
Read moreEven on the very touristy and ultimately undeveloped island of La Maddalena, you can get away from the city and find a small country inn. In the middle of the scrubland and overlooked by imposing granite rocks, this restaurant has a veranda in front of the house and tables in the garden. Suckling pigs are roasted on a spit in the large fireplace, pasta is blackened with squid ink, antipasti are brought in from the sea every day. We love the rural and authentic setting and the informal atmosphere.

L'ARAGOSTA
Read moreThis is the restaurant that the locals recommended to us. And for good reason, the prices are more than reasonable, a rare thing in La Maddalena. The food is quite good, and the whole thing is quite correct. Like many restaurants in the area, it has made a specialty of fish and seafood. The classic menu is as long as the arm and there is a large choice of pasta, pizzas, fried fish and shellfish, and grilled lobster... of course. The restaurant is located on the edge of the marina.
LA GROTTA
Read moreThe restaurant offers fish and shellfish cuisine in an alleyway in the historic centre, right next to the port of Cala Gavetta. Straw chairs, white tablecloths and beautiful presentations... all the details are there to enjoy a pleasant meal, but it is certainly the fish cooler that catches the eye. The fish antipasto with several small seafood starters, the spaghetti with clams and the homemade myrtle liqueur win the first prize among the dishes offered. The only regret is that the prices are decidedly high.
SOTTOSOPRA
Read moreA Pizzeria Internet: top (holy) you will find posts to surf and you can test the local Bière beer; downstairs, this is the restaurant-pizzeria corner. On the menu, the island's (marine) specialities or the delicious pizzas prepared by Antonello.
SOTTOVENTO
Read moreThis excellent restaurant stands out among the flock that occupies the area around the marina of Cala Mangiavolpe. The chef offers a rather original cuisine, mainly based on fish. The regulars can't get enough of the delicious octopus carpaccio, the tasty mussel brochette or the amazing ray with saffron. Porcetto is also cooked here, including a piglet with wild myrtle, served on bissau bread and accompanied by mint potatoes. The homemade ravioli are also worth a visit.
LA TERRAZZA
Read moreA terrace above a small place on the harbour. Welcome to the Terrazza! While reception is almost family, it is a very good table. The dishes are varied, the preparation is always careful and prices are reasonable. Unavoidable!
TRATTORIA DA BOCCHETTA
Read moreA triumph of fish, shellfish and crustaceans in this restaurant in the city center, which plays the gastronomic card. On the terrace or in the indoor dining room, the service is attentive and the cuisine is refined. Great care is taken with the raw materials, which are resolutely local. Special mention for the crudo di pesce (sliced raw fish that explodes with freshness), for the fregola with mussels, and for the fish soup. The menu is very varied and original. Excellent wine list that will delight all budgets.
