The Tenerife tramway currently operates on two lines. Line 1 connects Santa Cruz to La Laguna at 21 stations along a 12.5 km route, following an east-west route that forms a large V in the urban area. Opened in 2007, it runs all day and weekends, with trains every 10 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes after 9 p.m. and on weekends. Opened in 2009, line 2 runs from Cuesta to Tincer, 5 stations along a north-south axis, with 2 stations shared with line 1: Hospital Universitario and El Cardonal.
