We are quickly transported into the world of black and white movies with cocktails with well-chosen names. The staff is very professional, the piano creates a cosy and pleasant atmosphere, and some somewhat forgotten cocktails will take you back to the time of prohibition. A cocktail bar in the Žižkov? This seems to be becoming a habit as this once popular neighbourhood has now become fashionable! The Bukowski, however, is an institution, a little bit of history of the district, one of these subdued, strange and surprising lairs, always full of stories that take place there, to be told or heard. We sit comfortably on the chairs or standing at the counter. The night will be long, hectic and sometimes surreal. Bukowski himself would have approved!

An old-fashioned bar, perfect for a glass of champagne, an old fashioned or a simple beer. Very classic and confidential, it's perfect for an evening for two or a nightcap before going home. The decor is warm and inviting: pretty photos, film posters, slightly industrial lighting and furniture, parquet flooring and bistro tables found here and there: it's successful, harmonious and relaxed. Prices are really affordable, whatever the type of drink ordered, and you won't regret your evening.

The cocktails are well made and the prices honest considering the setting and the quality of service. Enough to warm up the atmosphere while waiting for the arrival of the DJs who play there every night. You can also taste small tapas there if you have a hollow. Good atmosphere and friendly welcome, far from the touristy bars of the city center. It is advisable to call to reserve.

Especially frequented, according to the programme, by students and well-off thirty-year-olds, it is a thirsty street in its own right! 1950s style decoration, with portraits of Marilyn, Harley Davidson seats and authentic Lincoln car! The cuisine is correct but expensive, and consists mainly of burgers. Try the cocktails instead, well done. In the basement, we dance to rhythms straight out of the fifties and sixties. Doo-wap and be-bop are in the spotlight, atmosphere guaranteed!

In the heart of Žižkov, famous for its countless beer bars, Tiki Taky stands out with its Polynesian décor and South Pacific cocktails. As soon as you enter, you already feel the need to move your hips to tropical rhythms. The only Tiki Bar in Prague welcomes Czechs and expats from the area, especially at the end of the night when all the other bars are closed, probably because of the time difference! Behind the counter is a beautiful range of arranged rums, and cocktails are a ray of sunshine on their own. A good little address.

An underground bar in the heart of the old town which is an authentic institution on site with various concerts and lively late nights. It's after midnight that it often fills up with Czechs and expats who come to linger for an after-party and drink one (or more) last drink(s) before going home. For a chain establishment, it's rather successful in terms of atmosphere and decoration. You will also find Popo Café Petl bars in the Malá Strana district in Nové Město, as well as in Vinohrady.

A trendy and sophisticated meeting place, an ideal place for lovers of music and cocktails. The Silwer is very busy, even during the days of the week, by the locals with electronic music, which is always good sign.

Don't be fooled by the chic and trendy décor and the rather high prices, the atmosphere here is as relaxed and welcoming as in a neighbourhood bar where we know everyone. Shakers are at full capacity throughout the evening and the recipes of the great classics are very successful, even if chances are you will finally be tempted by the servers' creations. Premium alcohols and fresh fruit for all recipes, to better accompany hot dogs!
