Located at the end of the old town's peninsula, the medieval "Bishop's Tower" houses the town's museum. Dating from the early 14th century, the tower served as a fortress to defend the town and remains the oldest structure still standing in Umag today. In 1976, the museum opened its doors and today features an exhibition of archaeological objects from Roman times (amphorae, oil lamps, Roman vases) as well as works by contemporary artists.
