Travel Guide Tlos

The discovery of an axe made it possible to attest that Tlos was occupied from 2000 BC until the 19th century. Even more than on other sites, the vestiges of different periods are superimposed. The impressive site offers a magnificent view of the Xanthos valley and the surrounding beautiful countryside. Take the winding road to the ruins. To the right is the acropolis and a fortress dating from the Ottoman period. Further down, follow the small path to reach the stone tombs, the most famous of which is that of the hero Belerephon who defeated the chimera. You will find several small restaurants in front of the site.
