The oldest of the seaside resorts that have sprung up from the sand in the last ten years, located 92 km from Alexandria. It is mentioned for that, but if your heart tells you so, you will be spoilt for choice with the dozens of new villages that also have their feet in the water. The Marina is easily accessible by bus from Alexandria, from El Moltaky Mall or Sidi Gaber. Nearby is the site of Alamein, where the very famous battle took place from 23 October to 4 November 1942, during which British and German-Italian troops fought each other.
