A small coastal town whose main attraction is the pier providing access to the Koh Tarutao-Koh Lipe archipelago. A few lodgings offer overnight accommodation while you wait for the next day's boat departure. Simple, welcoming restaurants near the pier are well worth a visit. From Hat Yai, expect buses every 2 hours or so, in the morning and early afternoon (3-hour journey). Minivans also provide frequent transit. They leave full (8 to 11 passengers, 2h journey, between 120 and 150 B). From Satun, shared cabs provide transport between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. (bus stop opposite 7 Eleven).
