Petit Futé's opinion on ROYAL BARGE MUSEUM

This collection of royal barges, some of which exceed 50 m, is located on the other side of Chao Phraya, Côté side, near the bridge of Pinklao. It is particularly impressive to see these barges during the rare processions in ceremonies. It's a very colorful spectacle with crews of up to 64 people, umbrellas, musicians, etc. All barges were renovated and redécorées under the reign of the current king. The most recent barge was that which was commissioned in 1996 by the late King Rama IX for his golden jubilee.

Les photographies sont payantes mais le spectacle de ces barges royales vaut la modique somme dépensée.
