Jim Thompson is a legend or a myth, but when he arrived in Thailand after the Second World War, his trace was definitively lost in March 1967. Many legends surround the death of the famous American who revived the silk industry in Thailand by founding the Thai Silk Company in 1948. This complex is composed of 7 traditional Thai teak houses from all over the country. Visitors can admire the entire collection of Asian art (sculptures, furniture, armpits) collected by the American. Not to be missed.

A beautiful house in a peaceful place in the heart of Bangkok. The visit begins by discovering the weaving of silk from the cocoons of the worms and continues in the garden and the incredible Jim Thompson house.

This museum is in fact the house of an American producer of famous silk who has all his life collected objects and architectural elements of all Thailand in order to design this extraordinary house. You can only visit the gardens then a charming French-speaking guide takes us on a tour of rooms in teak floors in small groups of 6. Very interesting. You can also see the use of cocoons of silkworms for weaving.
