This village on the road to Cafayate (57 km north of Tafi) is an interesting place to stay. First of all for its landscapes, superb, then for its pateros (local wines), and finally for its famous Pachamama festival, during which one makes wishes to Mother Earth (in February). The village is still inhabited by a Diaguita community; this people is the only one to whom land was returned by royal decree in 1716. Its climate, arid and dry, makes it look like a village in the Far West. Buses going from the village to Cafayate can possibly leave you at the crossing of the track to the ruins of Quilmes.
