The arrival in Zliten (35 km east of Khoms) is characterized by an abundance of palms. The dates of Zliten are very famous. Less exotic, the city has a large cement plant. Zliten has the largest Koranic school in the country, next to the magnificent Sidi Abdel Salam mosque. The Roman past of Zliten distinguishes itself from the seaside villa of a rich landowner, Dar Buk Amera, of which two of the splendid mosaics are exhibited at the Tripoli museum.
