Near the Grand-Place, a Brasserie dedicated to the procession of the Ommegang and to Charles V. Belgian-Belgian cuisine, but not only.
Located between the Grand-Place and the Îlot Sacré, the brewery takes its name from typical Brussels folklore. Representations of Emperor Charles V dot the decor: coins, portraits and even stilts symbolizing the Ommegang procession. The menu is made up of Belgian dishes (carbonnades, meatballs in tomato sauce, American...) and cuisine open to the world(buratta di buffala, Cesar salad, Irish cuberoll...). Giant beer barrels converted into secluded areas, and a fine Haacht beer list.

BRASSERIE OMMEGANG | BRUSSELS
A new classic café has arrived on the Brussels catering scene. Brasserie Ommegang is a charming establishment with a typical Brussels grandeur. What's more, it's based on a famous event in Brussels' cultural heritage: the Ommegang, the annual commemoration of Charles V's entry into Brussels in 1549.
The entire space is decorated in the style of a classic brasserie, with characteristic high ceilings and tastefully integrated Ommegang-related elements here and there. The entrance, for example, is covered with gilded coins bearing the effigy of Charles V, and the stilts on the ceiling are a real eye-catcher. An imposing full-colour reproduction of a medieval portrait of Charles V also decorates the establishment.above the central space is a mezzanine where small groups can sit in a more intimate setting. They can sit in beer barrels, converted into comfortable seats.
On sunny days, you can take full advantage of the atmosphere around the Grand Place, with its street performers and other artists.
In addition to a full Brasserie Haacht beer list, we offer a varied restaurant menu featuring typical Belgian dishes as well as a wide choice of meats, fish and salads.
Every day, we welcome you in a cosy setting with a discreet and varied musical atmosphere, and on Friday and Saturday evenings, our pianist will take you to the whim of his inspiration.

le service était aimable et attentionné, mais… il y a eu beaucoup d’attente entre chaque plat (même pour le dessert !) alors que le restaurant était loin d’être plein. Il semblerait que l’erreur initiale (notre entrée servie à une autre table…) ait chamboulée l’organisation de tout notre repas. Et cela, hélas, n’a jamais pu être rattrapé !!! Et pas vraiment d’excuses alors qu’on réclamait à chaque fois. Au final, dommage…
Mais on re-tentera, car la food était vraiment bonne.
Je recommande sans réserve.
