CARLOS MACHADO MUSEUM

The museum is housed in the former convent of Santo André, of Renaissance and Baroque architecture, protected by two extraordinary wrought iron gates. The facade is superb, with its turrets adorned with fine green wooden lattices. Various permanent and temporary exhibitions - of both contemporary and sacred art - demonstrate the vitality and artistic openness of the Azores.
